"Do more than belong: participate" (William Arthur Ward)
HENSCHKE PARENTS AND FRIENDS
Every Catholic School in NSW has a P&F.
The P&F is an integral part of school and provides a formal structure and support network for parents to participate in the activities and decision making processes at the school and to work for the benefit of the school and their children.
Henschke Catholic Primary School values home, school and community partnerships in order to provide the best for our children. However, this cannot occur when only a handful of parents are involved in the activities of the P&F, the consensus decision making, the information sharing and enjoying the successes.
Similarly, parents, carers and families are the first teachers of their children and have the right and the responsibility to be engaged with their children’s education. Research shows that children do better at school when parents continue to be engaged throughout their children’s years at school. The P&F can facilitate this engagement.
We invite you all to attend the P & F meetings, which are held on the first Tuesday of every month via ZOOM at 7.00pm due to COVID restrictions.
Participating in these meetings gives you the opportunity to hear about the direction for the school, where the money is being spent, what educational programs are being implemented, how teachers are educating your children and how the school is growing as part of our local community.
Naturally not everyone can attend every meeting due to home and work commitments, however attendance regularly will increase your knowledge about your child’s education, provide you information on the direction of your school, and increase your feeling of belonging to your school community.
