School carnivals

Henschke Catholic Primary School participates in a variety of carnivals throughout the year across all age groups.

REPRESENTATIVE PATHWAY
The Wagga Wagga Diocese uses the following structure

1. School Carnival (Trial)
2. Deanery
3. Diocesan
4. MacKillop
5. NSW PSSA
6. School Sport Australia

Henschke Catholic Primary School is proud to have had our school represented by students in all 6 levels over the past few years.

For Year 6 students who show exceptional talent in a particular sport, sporting trials on a Diocesan level are held in:

SUMMER SPORTS
Cricket
Tennis Basketball
Softball

WINTER SPORTS
Rugby League 
Netball 
Australian Football
Football (Soccer)
Hockey

From these Diocesan Trials teams / sqauds then participate in MacKillop Trials for possible selection to attend NSW PSSA State Championships.

In sports like Diving and Rugby Union where there are not many participants, schools are asked to nominate student to the Diocesan Sports Coordinator who will organise a trial if necessary or alternatively send nominations onto the MacKillop Convenor. 

​At times, if Year 6 numbers are low in a particular sport, Year 5 students who show exceptional talent may be invited to trial, at the discretion of Diocesan organisers.
